I did it! Successfully completed my first Half Marathon!

Yep, today is May 9th.  I woke up Sunday morning May 6th and ran 13.1 miles from Wayzata, MN to Excelsior.  A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!  I put in the hard work of training- sometimes that meant running 5 days a week plus I am currently training for two Triathlons this summer.  So swimming, cycling and weight lifting fill my days as well.  I think I have been learning the most of all of this around Balance.  Balancing my life with 3 children, a hubby, two jobs- animals and a healthy social life.  I do feel a major transformation in myself recently and I love it!  Life has been tough at times but I am choosing to courageously make up my mind to just walk through the obstacles presented, breathe and embrace all of it! I really do believe that the purpose of life is Joy and that basis to life is Freedom.

During my Half Marathon (completed in 2:29) I kept my focus on the energy of gratitude, love and sending peace and healing to those around me, the planet, my friends, family, my kids, myself. Peace and Gratitude run it was...  Now I know that I can embark on my training for the full marathon experience with the Twin Cities Marathon come Oct 2012!!

Yep, Now I AM once again Defying Gravity!
I came upon that mantra a few years back when I saw the musical Wicked! My body filled with energy and goosebumps- it was transforming me there and then- in all dimensions of time and space.  I finally could see that "something has changed within me. something is not the same. I tired of being the fool of someone else's game...

Week 4! working up to my First Half Marathon!

Today is Tuesday, February 7th, 2012.  A week into Atkins Induction- minor slip ups but okay with dietary needs- I live gluten free so Atkins isn't too hard anymore.

this week:  5 days of running, two cycling.

I got my morning cycle into today at LA Fitness at 5:45AM.  There is quite a crowd there at 5:45AM.  Who would have thought that??!  It has been almost a month of me adding my 2 days a week of cycle to my running calender.  I do my 3rd Triathlon ever in June.  My husband and I just bought ourselves road racing Trek Bikes this past weekend.  My husband laughed that his cost more than his first car- me too!!

I am so very excited though to put my health on my calender daily now.  Time for myself!  I have 3 beautiful children 12 and twins 10.  After all these years in family life, I forgot about feeling healthy and strong again daily and not to just cope with life but to truly thrive!  I am thriving now!

Last week was tough. I was really sick with flu/cold.  I finally feel back!  not 100% but 90%.  Good enough.  Time to kick it in gear this week per se!  Hour cycle tuesday and thursday AM's and Tues Wed Thurs 30-45 min runs.  These are not meant to be long- but to build endurance.
That's all for now!
